1. Who we are

SkillSaver ("we", "us") is a software service operated from Lucerne, Switzerland. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the SkillSaver Chrome extension and website (together, the "Service"). The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — your email address and a hashed password, collected when you register.
• Captured content — the URLs and text of pages you choose to save through the extension.
• Generated files — SKILL.md files produced by the Service on your request.
• Usage logs — a count of generation requests, used solely to enforce your plan's quota.
• Payment data — handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy; we receive only your subscription tier and a customer reference ID. We never see your card details.

3. Legal basis

We process your data to perform the contract you enter into when you create an account (nDSG Art. 31 para. 2 lit. a; GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Usage logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing quota abuse.

4. Sub-processors

We share data with the following processors, each under a data processing agreement:

• Supabase, Inc. (USA, data centre: London, UK) — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Google LLC (USA) — Gemini API, used to generate SKILL.md files from your captured content. For details on how Google handles API data, see Google's Gemini API terms.
• Lemon Squeezy (USA) — payment processing and subscription management.

Transfers to the USA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (EU SCCs, mutatis mutandis applicable to Swiss transfers per FDPIC guidance).

5. Retention

Account and captured content is retained until you delete your account and purged within 30 days of deletion. Usage logs are retained for the duration of your subscription to enforce quota. Payment records are retained for 10 years as required by Swiss accounting law (OR Art. 958f).

Free tier accounts that have been inactive for 12 consecutive months will receive an email warning that their account and data will be deleted in 30 days. If no action is taken, the account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. Pro accounts are considered active for as long as a paid subscription is in place.

6. Your rights

Under the Swiss nDSG (Art. 25–27) and GDPR (Art. 15–22) you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data, and to object to processing. Email contact@skillsaver.io and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss FDPIC, or with your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU/EEA.

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie set by Supabase to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

8. Data breaches

In the event of a personal data breach that poses a high risk to your rights, we will notify the Swiss FDPIC within 72 hours and inform affected users without undue delay, including the nature of the breach, the data affected, and the steps we are taking to address it.

9. Changes

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any material change to this policy.

1. The Service

SkillSaver is a Chrome extension and web application that captures web pages and generates structured SKILL.md files for use with Claude Code. By creating an account you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering contracts to use the Service. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will delete their account and data promptly.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You may not share your account or use the Service on behalf of others without their consent.

4. Plans and limits

Free tier — 10 captured pages total (5 per folder), 5 SKILL.md generations lifetime. Deleted pages do not restore your quota.

Pro tier — unlimited captured pages, 50 SKILL.md generations per calendar month, at USD 12/month or USD 120/year.

5. Payment and cancellation

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time; your Pro access continues until the end of the paid period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods unless required by applicable law.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to capture or process illegal content, to circumvent plan limits, to reverse-engineer the Service, or to transmit malware. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture and process any content you save through the Service. SkillSaver is not responsible for your use of third-party content that may be subject to copyright, terms of service, or other restrictions.

7. Your content

You own the pages you capture and the SKILL.md files generated for you. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the Service. We do not use your content to train AI models. Your captured content is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate SKILL.md files; Google's handling of that data is governed by their API terms, which we encourage you to review.

8. Intellectual property

The SkillSaver extension, website, and brand are our property. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". SKILL.md files are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any AI-generated output before using it in production systems. We make no warranty that generated skills will perform as expected with Claude or any other AI system.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or CHF 100, whichever is greater.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Lucerne, Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your country of residence.

12. Changes

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any material change to these Terms. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Your Pro access will continue until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the free tier.

This permanently deletes your account, all captured pages, and all generated skills. This cannot be undone.
